For parents who want to worry less and play more!

Girls and Boys, Meet Nature and by the way, bring a gun…

I’ll state up front that I am neither a tree hugging liberal or a PETA fan. I am however, most of the time, a responsible parent. In reading this rather strange and interesting article I had a few thoughts. The first of which is whether I’d like to see my daughter in camouflage holding a 12-guage shotgun. Now I’m not against hunting on a political level–I eat meat and sometimes fish but I will state that I am against if for sport. Is it really appropriate to teach your little girl that shooting an animal is good—especially so that you can put funny glasses on his head while he sits staring at you with his dead eyes from atop your mantle? What kind of a message does that send? In my humble opinion, unless you are hunting for food I don’t see the point. I do believe there is enough violence in the world without having to advocate young children killing for sport.
