If you’re anything like me–a early (extremely early) 40’s mom you spent you’re youth listening to the rock band “Kiss.” Crazy make up, blood spitting, demonic lyrics–the whole nine yards. I almost flipped when I learned that behind the whacked facade, long tongued Gene Simmons was a nice Jewish boy from Israel who moved to New York with his mother in the late 50’s and became Gene Klein. He claims to have never smoked, been high or drunk.
Now after years of rock and roll insanity, Gene is imparting his parenting wisdom on the rest of us in his new A&E reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.” The cameras come into the lives of he and his long time partner Shannon Tweed and their two children—17 year old Nick and 14 year old Sophie. It may just be my obsession with reality TV or some hankering to dig deep back to my fabulous high school years but I seriously can’t wait to check this out. Move over “Hulk” there’s a dad in town…
