A friend of mine sent me this essay. She has two boys–the older one starting college in the fall at Tufts and the younger one in high school (public high school and is doing extremely well.) She is my inspiration–she’s an amazing parent and her boys have exceeded all expectations.
We were having a conversation last night that I’ve had only a couple of times before. it was the one that talks about how quickly childhood leaves and by 13 or 14 years of age, you’re child becomes their own person. Ms. Quindlen talks about how you never know “what worked and what didn’t work” about how you’ve parented but that you hope you’ve done most of it right.
For all the moms out there reading this–carpe diem and enjoy!
