Creationism, Condoms and Al Gore

What do these three things have in common–and no, it’s not Bill Clinton. What these three things have in common is that they are subjects that have been banned from being taught in the Federal Way school district. Why? Apparently, because they’re all too controversial. Now I have never believed that not telling kids about the use of condoms cuts down on the amount of school age children having sex–instead I think it leads to more teenage pregnancy, venereal diseases and abortions. Which seems like the very things this group of objectors would like to see less of.

There is certainly debate about the causes and solutions of global warming, but I don’t believe there is a scientist alive who doesn’t believe in it’s actual existence. I recently saw the movie, “An Inconvenient Truth” and while it demonstrated clearly that if Al Gore had become president, it’s likely he would have been the most boring we’ve ever had in this country. But it also demonstrated many of the facts concerning an issue he has studied and assembled data about for many, many years.  So why are these people so afraid of science? You tell me…
