It’s been ages since I’ve contributed to the conversation on PITW, but when I read this article it harkened back to one of my previous posts from August about Club Libby Lu. At the time I was feeling slightly guilty about taking my daughter to the pre-Hannah Montana beauty parlor for a special “mommy/daughter” date. I was a bit concerned that I was sexualizing my young daughter and perhaps planting the wrong seed–no matter how much fun we had.
Well, apparently I can absolve myself of the guilt. The parenting maven Dr. Joyce Brothers contends that dressing up in mommy’s clothes, putting on make up etc. is a good way to let young children think about the future. There’s more about the misconceptions we believe as parents in this recent article. “A Test.” Do you agree?
